significance
i chose this book because i haven't read a book set in a technological setting. holes was set in a area cut off from civilization, and lord of the rings was set in medival times, so i thought i should try this book. One other reason i that i have never read or watched anything that was about this series
perspective
This story is told by Artemis fowl the second, a 12 year old crime lord/child prodigy, knowing that fairies existed, he has been exploited or was interrupted by them. His name came from a greek god, admitting the name is for females, he claims that the name goes to greatly talented men.
evidence
These are one of those fiction stories that are mixed with reality, refering to the titanic and public problems. one of the companies in this story is refered to a snack, the companies is fisson chips, you know what it's ripped off from?
connection
this story is really good and is appealing to my tastes in a book, fictitious, fantasy, mythology and technology. it shows that kids are also in command sometimes, and s one of he first series of books that have a criminal as a character.(stanley was accused as a criminal, but is not, he's just really unlucky)
supposition
if this story was taken in the medieval ages than this story would by really odd. Butler would be a knight with the bucket helmet, and Artemis would be a sorcerer, the fairies would stay the same, but the cube would be described as "A manner of sorcery". The disc retrieved by mulch diggums would be a form of Magical artifact, possibly a coin, and fission chips would be replaced with a cult of power hungry assassians

Holes-louis sachar
significance
i chose this book because i read it a few years ago, but i forgot the plot, so i decided to read it again, i realized a few things i didn't see last time, i just thought that it was just 2 story lines, but it really was that the past story of Eyla yelnats, which is stanley's great great grandfather, affects stanley more than just cursing him to camp green lake, but hey, i was in 3rd grade then.
perspective
this story takes place in a modern 1990 type era, something similar to our time, time of obese kids, thievery, and homeless people, and where the innocent get sent to a juvenile camp 100 miles away from civilization, filled vwith young teenagers deciding to be bad, just like us.
evidence
this can possibly happen, exept for the curse, that might never happen, but a kid
being falsely blamed for stealing shoes and being sent a juvenile camp for 18 months, not breaking news.
connection
it doesn't inspire me to read that much, but it's telling me that i am forgetful and should reread some of the books i've read earlier again. Since i forgot it, it will be just as exciting when i read it last time.
supposition
if this took place in the time of lord of the rings, then only some of the storyline will change, instead of being accused of stealing shoes, he'll be accused of stealing excalibur, and instead of being sent to camp green lake, he'll be sent to....
MORDOR!!!
and instead of turning him into a good person, they'll turn him into a orc! And the author will replace zero with gollum or a baby dragon. And the release the curse, the orc'd Stanley would probably have to let it drink from the lava of mount. doom insted of having to drink from a spring.

Lord of the rings 2-J.R.R. Tolkien
significance
I chose this book because it is like a folktale or myth from days way back. Such as King Arthur and others, this story inspires and awes with mystifying detail. I hoped to find inspiration to help me make of a great story of my own, and I did.
It uses imaginary or fictitious such as orcs of a gruesome appearance against a team of horsemen with great stature. With two escaping into a forest of living trees.
this is the stuff i'm interested in.
Perspective
This story takes place in the days of swords and magic, dwarves and elves, evil and good. Otherwise known as the middle ages, when magical wizards and ancient creatures roamed the earth, the ones that we believed never existed.
The 3rd graders might be confused, but possibly have some idea of it.
The story begins with 3 people that have came together by pure coincidence, with one of their friends about to die, he tells the 3 that two of their partners have been captured by bad people., and another 2 have disappeared, casing 3 groups of people to have their own story.
Evidence
the story weakens from reality because no proof of demons, dragons, and the ability to fling fireballs at your will. making most of this book fiction, it has been proven they used swords back then, and dwarves could've just been the short people, but there's no proof to this tale.
As much as i want to believe it, there is no proven information that says that giant spiders with near fatal venom, wars against hell spawns versus great soldiers, and talking trees once existed.
Connection
This piece has inspired me to read books like this more, for i have already been pulled into stories of clashing blades and mystical artifacts. This books detail has not only pulled, but inspired me more to read these types of tales.
I am delighted of hearing these stories, whether it is about 2 small men trying to sneak into a impenetrable stronghold, or 3 men trying to gather armies of men to fight hell incarnate, i am going like it.
supposition
If this book took place in our time period rather than theirs, most of the tale would be...odd. For small villages filled with cottages could be replaced with new york, and castles and strongholds may be replaced with the white house and mount Rushmore.
When they reach the black gates of mordor, they decide to take another path, but what if it was the black gates of WAL-MART, then when they enter and try to destroy the one ring by putting it into a blender, then instead of facing Shelob the spider, they'd face...
DAN THE ASSISTANT MANAGER, thus leading them to stab him, then try to blend the rings in the jewelry section in thought of the one ring being multiplied. Leading to them being chased by the police and making a gang with Aragorn and others called LOTRIDH (lord of the rings in da hood)
